Labor Day Weekend Roundup

What you may have missed while boozing and eating yourself into a coma after the holiday weekend:

-After splitting yesterday's double header with the Marlins, the Phillies are a mere half game behind the Braves. Bring it!

-Matt Leinart was dropped on Saturday by the Cardinals for whining like a baby. Then he was picked up by the Texans. Does anyone care? Didn't want to be a backup in Arizona so is the 3rd in line for Houston. Good job there, Matt.

-The standoff is over. Darrelle Revis is back with the New York Jets. His 4 year deal does not make him the highest paid defensive player in the NFL, as he had demanded. He must have realized that he needed to figure something out in order to pay his over half a million dollars in fines for missing all of training camp and the preseason. Hmm, was crazy Brett Favre assessed such a fine?

-Thursday marks the official start of the 2010 football season, which will be a rematch of last year's NFC championship game: Vikings versus Saints. How I love September.
