Larry Fitzgerald's Inscribed Pink Cleats Honor His Mother

It’s October, and the NFL joins individuals and organizations around the country in promoting breast cancer awareness. Accordingly, the month features some of the toughest athletes on the planet with uniforms highlighted by the color pink. In other words, it’s glorious.

The league-wide tribute had special meaning to Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, whose mother lost her battle to the disease in 2003. To honor her memory, Fitzgerald added his own personal touch to show his support of the cause and honor his mother, Carol, inscribing her name on his shoes (above).

A sad loss for Fitzgerald and all who have lost friends and loved ones in the fight against breast cancer but they are remembered and the fight goes on.
