Oh Randy

Despite coming off of a loss to the Jets, New England Patriot Randy Moss' press conference last week was calm and relatively sane. But he still had on the giant headphones. I tried to find a still but have thus far been unsuccessful. Still, you can witness the choice of accessories here.

September's Heating Up

In my ecstasy that was the return of football, I have neglected to write about my beloved Phillies. I am have no excuse. I will try harder. Part of the reason for my silence is the fact that I don't have much that can be put into more than a very few words. I'm excited. The Phillies are yet again rocking in September. Cole Hamels seems to be back to 2008 World Series form. It all seems to have finally come together.

Vick's In, Kolb's Out

Best Week Ever?

The second week of the 2010 football season is ending. In my eyes, it's going to be hard to top it. After last week's failings, both of my teams pulled through this week for wins.  Though it wasn't pretty, the Eagles won with Michael Vick as quarterback. Even though "only" over Detroit, it is still a win. Big bro showed little bro who was boss in the Manning Bowl, and in so doing made me forget the pain that was the Colts season opener/slaughter by the Texans.

Q Scores Most Disliked Athletes

Q scores  is an organization that uses a number of factors to determine the likability of an array of celebrities, including athletes. Their findings for most disliked athletes was announced this week, and are as follows:

 1. Michael Vick

Clinton Portis Keeps His Mouth Shut

Clinton Portis' mouth has gotten him into trouble this week. He said the following about an investigation into the New York Jets' treatment of a female reporter, from espn.com:

"I think you put women reporters in the locker room in position to see guys walking around naked, and you sit in the locker room with 53 guys, and all of the sudden you see a nice woman in the locker room. I think men are going to tend to turn and look and want to say something to that woman.

Tom Brady Whines About His Fans. And His Hair is Still Awful.

If you haven't realized it from previous posts, you know now: I do not like Tom Brady. Yesterday, he revealed that he wasn't happy with fans leaving Patriots' games early. New England fans, please take this as your queue to leave as early as possible at each and every game you attend. Watch a quarter, have a brew, and call it a day. Hey Tommy, most of your fans don't make $19 million a year, so can't afford to miss or be totally exhausted for a day at work.  So sorry to displease you.

I Heart Leonard Weaver

Sunday night's Eagles season opener was hard to watch, not least for the number of Eagles injuries. The most difficult injury to watch injury was that of Fullback Leonard Weaver, which I showed you right here. Seeing Weaver's injury likely caused you to physically recoil. And seeing him cry as he was helped off the field was just absolutely gut wrenching. All Philadelphia sports fans and NFL enthusiasts around the country hoped that Weaver would be okay.

Get Ready for Manning Bowl!

Manning Bowl is the term coined for the meeting of the teams of Manning brothers Eli (New York Giants) and Peyton (Indianapolis Colts) in NFL competition. It doesn't happen every season so when the match up does occur there is much media attention. You are going to hear the term "Manning Bowl"  so much this week that you soon will get to the stage that you may scream when you hear it. Before you get to that point, watch this DirecTV spot playing off of the upcoming bout of brotherly competition. It's pretty amusing.

Fashion Offense: Randy Moss

Randy Moss displayed a whole lot of crazy in his post game press conference yesterday after the New England Patriots' defeat of the Cincinnati Bengals. So much going on that I couldn't listen after first the 30 seconds of insanity. All I could do was look. At that outfit. Which had oh so many things going on... I think I am most fascinated by the giant headphones. I mean, what?! No, I'm wrong. The pièce de résistance of this ensemble is the red doo rag. Worn beneath an off-center baseball cap.
